She had cried and said yes. 11 months, 10 days and approximately 4 minutes ago, Lucuis and Narcissa Malfoy deemed Hermione Granger unfit to carry on the Malfoy line and drew up a marriage contract with Pansy Parkinson. 11 months and 38 minutes ago, Hermione Granger walked out of Draco Malfoy’s life because he stayed silent as she sobbed and pleaded with him to do something about his marriage contract. 6 months, 5 days and 45 minutes ago, Draco Malfoy received a ‘save the date’ invitation to the wedding of Hermione Jean Granger and Theodore Nott. 2 days and 12 minutes ago, Draco Malfoy objected to their marriage. 2 days and 10 minutes ago, Draco Malfoy kissed the one woman he ever truly loved and Portkeyed them away to his private home. 4 hours and 13 minutes ago, Hermione Granger wed Draco Malfoy in a private ceremony on his private beach. 1 minute ago, swaying in a hammock with his wife in his arms, Draco Malfoy decided that life was finally good.

“I see more of you in her everyday.” Draco mumbled, sitting down beside his wife and tucking an arm around her. Lyra was currently sat across the room, her nose in a book, as usual. Hermione glanced towards him with a smile. “Except the hair, of course.”
“He wasn’t meant to turn out like me…” Draco mused, leaning against the door frame of their son’s bedroom with his fingers laced around a steaming mug. Scorpius was currently sleeping after a particularly horrible argument between the two earlier, the only time he looked remotely peaceful. “I didn’t want him to become so self-destructive, I thought we raised him better than that.” Hermione appeared by his side, holding her own mug and resting her head against his shoulder. “He’ll be fine though, won’t he?” She studied the teenage boy with concerned eyes, knowing he’d probably yell at them if he knew they were watching him sleep. Draco turned towards his wife, eyes taking in her familiar features before nodding slightly. “I am, aren’t I? He just needs to find his very own Granger.”

“So that’s what happened. That’s why I need a new flat.” Hermione concluded after telling how her ex-boyfriend cheated on her.
Draco rolled his eyes, scoffing, “Come on, you had no idea he was cheating on you?”
She quickly shook her head, “No. We’d been dating forever. I thought I knew him. He wasn’t much of a looker, anyway.” Sighing, she buried her face in her hands.
The lads glanced at each other. She continued, “It’s okay, I’m just a little emotional right now. You know how it is.”
They stared blankly at her. They have no idea.
Hermione smiled a little, “It’s a little uncanny, actually. When I saw your ad on the prophet, I thought you were witches -
Theodore snorted defensively, “What? Why would you think that? That’s absurd!”
“He wrote the ad.” Blaise pointed out.
“I guess it’s because you described the floor as green-ish.” She nodded, looking down. The floors were green-ish.

His face was pressed against hers, their hateful words fading away. Breathing heavily Hermione had to have the last word. “You’re awful close,” She whispered just before his lips crashed into hers. Flinging her arms around him, she kissed him back more passionately.
“Draco.” She hummed against his mouth. And right then. Just then, he supposes, was when he realized that he loved her. Loved her so much it hurt. So much he’d do anything for her. It was right then he pulled himself back, and turned quickly, to avoiding staring at the tears that formed on her hurt face. Draco remembered the whole scene like it had been yesterday. He’d said to her coldly, barely looking over his shoulder, “Go home, Granger. I don’t ever want to see you.” His throat was thick but he couldn’t. He couldn’t let himself love her. He couldn’t hurt her more than he had right then. And mostly importantly she would never love him. Not the way she could someone else.
When she didn’t leave, he did. And the moment he did, he regretted it.
Years later, Draco had returned to the very spot he’d made his decision. He supposed it was his his fault. He had left her and now he stood more alone then ever on the very bridge he’d broken her heart.
Broken and empty Draco turned and left the wretched lonely frosted bridge forever.

”Draco. Listen to me. You don’t have to do this!” Hermione screamed at him, as he walked away from her. “Don’t be a coward!”
Draco screeched to a halt. “Coward? Coward?! I have no choice or Voldemort will kill my family. You think I’m a coward for trying to protect my family?” With each word he took a step towards her. He hated this, loving Hermione and having to go against her. She took his hand in hers, and Draco squeezed them. He had almost forgot how soft and gentle hey were, yet strong enough to defend herself against Death Eaters. She tiptoed and kissed him. Warmth rushed through Draco, as he wrapped his arms around her small waist, scared of holding her too tight.
“We’ll go to Dumbledore. he can help you. He can get the DA to help you and your family.” She whispered against his lips. Draco tasted her tears and wanted to just sit here, in the Room of Requirement forever, just holding this wonderful, beautiful girl. But this was not right. Sooner or later, what they had would end. He smiled, and lifted her chin.
“It’ll be okay Hermione. I promise. Everything will be all right. Now, it’s time for me to go.” Hermione shook her head, holding him tighter. He stood up, and brought his wand out.
“I’m sorry. I love you.” He whispered, and before Hermione could protest the words had left his mouth.
“Obliviate.”
